Solar Lights
Change Lives

Shine On Rwanda partners with Let There Be Light International who has helped more than one million people in off-grid Africa gain access to solar energy in their homes and in health clinics. A lack of light impacts safety, health, development, education, and economic outcomes. Join us today to fight climate change and global poverty.

Shine on Rwanda is a three-way partnership with Let There Be Light International (LTBLI), Think about Education in Rwanda (NPO-TER), and supporters John Keith and Leah Weinkle.

John and Leah have traveled to Rwanda several times and have fallen in love with Rwanda's endless hills and the warm smiles of its people. The energy and optimism of the country is an inspiring counterpoint to its tragic history.

SHINE ON RWANDA

John and Leah have previously organized distributions of solar lights to hundreds of students and their families at Hope Haven Rwanda. Through this work, John and Leah have seen the impact solar lights can have for people living with no access to electricity.

John and Leah have now partnered with Let There Be Light International and NPO-TER to help bring Let There Be Light International's solar light distribution model to Rwanda. The goal of Shine On Rwanda is to distribute over 1,000 solar lights to Rwandans living in energy poverty in 2023. And the plan is to distribute even more lights in 2024!
